Inceptio Technology Begins Mass Production of Taurus Next-Generation Autonomous Driving Control Unit to Accelerate Commercial Adoption

2026-06-17

SHANGHAI, June 17, 2026 -- Inceptio Technology ("Inceptio" or the "Company"), a leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for trucks, today announced that Taurus, its next-generation autonomous driving control unit (ADCU), has entered mass production, with initial deliveries already underway to leading logistics companies for real-world operations.

Taurus delivers higher computing performance and power efficiency while reducing system complexity, made possible by its rigorously co-designed hardware and algorithms. The platform enhances Inceptio Truck Navigate-on-Autopilot (T-NOA) by improving safety, comfort, cost efficiency, and operational efficiency.

Taurus is powered by the Horizon Journey® 6M chip and is one of the first intelligent driving solutions for trucks to achieve large-scale commercial deployment on a single chip. The platform provides a highly integrated compute foundation that can be seamlessly integrated into commercial truck platforms to accelerate the adoption of intelligent driving solutions across the logistics industry.

Four Core Capabilities: High-Efficiency Computing, Precise Positioning, Streamlined Architecture, and Strong Energy Efficiency

As Inceptio's next-generation, proprietary full-stack platform, Taurus is built around four core strengths: high-efficiency computing, precise positioning, streamlined architecture, and strong energy efficiency.

The platform adopts Horizon's Journey® 6M single-chip solution, delivering total computing power of 137K DMIPS and 128 TOPS while integrating CPU, BPU, and MCU functions for streamlined performance. It also delivers precise positioning by incorporating an advanced GNSS/INS module. To further enhance energy efficiency, Taurus also uses an air-cooling thermal management solution that meets automotive-grade requirements for long-term operation in ambient temperatures of up to 85°C.

These capabilities support the upgrade of Taurus perception models to the Transformer architecture, which improves object perception accuracy, stability, and continuity, particularly for distant small targets and partially occluded objects. It also enhances road topology detection, enabling better handling of complex scenarios such as ramp merging, road forks, steep gradients, and curves.

Validated Through Stringent Automotive-Grade Testing for Mass Production

The Taurus platform has passed stringent automotive-grade testing, including full validation across EV, DV, and PV stages, verifying its reliability under demanding operating conditions.

By integrating high-concurrency AI computing and real-time vehicle control on a single chip, Taurus eliminates the need for traditional multi-component solutions. This streamlined architecture maintains strict functional safety standards, achieving ASIL-B functional safety and ISO 21434-certified cybersecurity to ensure robust performance in challenging operating conditions and maintenance environments.

Taurus’s data storage and management capabilities have been enhanced to seamlessly handle the unique challenges of trucking, such as weak network coverage and unpredictable operating conditions. This helps ensure reliable transmission of critical data and supports the continuous optimization and upgrade of T-NOA.

To date, Inceptio's Autonomous Driving System has accumulated more than 700 million kilometers of commercial operation, covering over 97% of China's expressways. The number of intelligent trucks equipped with the system has now reached several thousand units, indicating that intelligent driving for trucks is entering a period of accelerated industry adoption.

"We expect growth to further accelerate in 2026 as the adoption of new technologies reaches an inflection point. This year, several of our express and delivery customers have already made autonomous driving a standard feature in their new truck purchases," said Julian Ma, Founder and CEO of Inceptio Technology.

With its highly integrated, open, and OEM-friendly computing foundation, Taurus lowers the R&D and deployment threshold for T-NOA while enabling rapid scenario iteration. Following mass production, Inceptio will continue working with ecosystem partners to accelerate the adoption of autonomous driving solutions in commercial vehicles, supporting the logistics industry's transition toward safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective intelligent operations.

About Inceptio Technology

Inceptio Technology is an industry leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for trucks. Its flagship technology is the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System, a proprietary full-stack solution. Inceptio partnered with leading OEMs to roll out the industry’s first series production L3 autonomous trucks in late 2021. These trucks are operated by customers across all line-haul logistics sectors including express delivery, full-truckload (FTL) transportation, less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation, and cold chain. Inceptio is at the cutting edge of developing fully driverless trucks. In 2022 it became the first company in China to receive a public road-testing permit for driverless autonomous heavy-duty trucks.
