Inceptio-Powered Autonomous Trucks Surpass 200 Million Kilometers in Commercial Operations Capping Off Groundbreaking Year

2024-12-11

Inceptio Technology ("Inceptio" or the “Company”), an industry leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks, announced today that its autonomous trucks have surpassed 200 million kilometers in commercial operations. This achievement sets a new benchmark within the sector and doubles the 100-million-kilometer milestone reached at the end of April 2024.

Over 2,000 Inceptio-powered trucks are now deployed in the fleets of China’s top logistics companies, paving the way for greater commercialization. These trucks operate daily along major freight routes across China, demonstrating the exceptional performance and capabilities of the technology in logistics operations. Data has shown a 20-50% reduction in labor costs along with a 3-7% improvement in fuel efficiency, which translates into estimated annual savings of 6,000 liters of diesel and a reduction of 15.8 tons in CO₂ emissions per truck. Crucially, a joint study by Inceptio and Chinese insurance company CPIC found that Inceptio’s trucks performed 75-99% better than human-operated trucks across a range of safety indicators. Moreover, drivers report enhanced comfort and safety while operators are seeing fleet-attendance rates improve significantly, with an increase in monthly kilometers per truck as large as 10%.

“Surpassing 200 million kilometers of safe, autonomous commercial operations is an extraordinary achievement that showcases the transformative power of our technology," said Julian Ma, Founder & CEO of Inceptio Technology. “The impact our technology is already having on the logistics industry is profound, as our autonomous driving system is pre-loaded into a wider array of trucks produced by our OEM partners and commercially deployed more broadly by logistics companies. We are incredibly proud to be at the forefront of autonomous trucking and are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration of our industry partners.”

The milestone caps off a year of remarkable growth for Inceptio, that saw major deliveries to logistics companies including STO Express (SHE: 002468), YTO Express (SHE: 600233), Yunyi Transport, Huatai Logistics and a landmark 400 autonomous truck delivery to ZTO Express (NYSE: ZTO and HKEX: 2057), the largest single delivery of intelligent heavy-duty trucks globally. In September, Inceptio also powered the launch of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle’s Hi-Truck Tianlong Autonomous GX/KX Series, which come pre-loaded with the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System. The liquified natural gas (LNG) variant of this vehicle is the first in the industry to feature autonomous driving technology.

“As we reflect on a year of remarkable growth and groundbreaking milestones, from record-breaking deployments to the launch of cutting-edge vehicle platforms, it's clear that with every kilometer driven and every delivery made, we are redefining what's possible in logistics and paving the way for safer, more efficient, and profitable operations,” added Mr. Ma. “As the macroeconomic outlook tightens and the motivation for cost savings intensifies, logistics companies are increasingly eager to adopt our solution. As the number of Inceptio-powered trucks on the road increases, the more data we will be able to collect and leverage to further enhance our algorithms and refine our full-stack solution. 2024 was a milestone year for us and we look forward to working closely with our truck OEM partners and logistics companies next year to demonstrate how our technologies are ready to be adopted more widely across the globe.”

Inceptio remains committed to delivering innovative solutions for its customers and looks forward to more groundbreaking milestones in 2025.

About Inceptio Technology

Inceptio Technology is an industry leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks. Its flagship technology is the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System, a proprietary full-stack solution. Inceptio partnered with leading OEMs to roll out the industry’s first serial production L3 autonomous trucks in late 2021. These trucks are operated nationwide in China by customers across the line-haul logistics sector including express delivery, full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation, and cold chain logistics. Inceptio is at the cutting edge of developing fully driverless trucks. In 2022 it became the first company in China to receive a public road-testing permit for driverless autonomous heavy-duty trucks.
