Inceptio Technology Delivers Over 300 Autonomous Heavy-Duty Trucks to STO Express
2024-11-12
Inceptio Technology (“Inceptio”), an industry leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks, recently delivered more than 300 Inceptio-powered autonomous heavy-duty trucks to STO Express (SHE: 002468), a leading express delivery company in China. Expected to be on the road by the close of 2024, this deployment will empower STO Express’s fleet to service the surge in demand during China’s Double 11 shopping festival with improved logistical efficiency and reliability.
These trucks, developed in collaboration with various leading truck manufacturers, are pre-loaded with Inceptio’s proprietary full-stack Autonomous Driving System, enabling hub-to-hub autonomous driving across complex routes. The system seamlessly integrates functionalities like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping control, automated lane changes, fuel-saving control and autonomous overtaking. Beyond improving efficiency, Inceptio prioritizes safety with automatic emergency braking and driver safety monitoring systems.
Inceptio and STO Express have worked together since 2021. After an initial delivery of trucks in March 2024, STO Express placed an additional order for 350 trucks in July, underscoring the value that Inceptio’s autonomous heavy-duty trucks bring to the logistics company. To date, STO Express’ Inceptio-powered fleet has surpassed 18 million kilometers in safe commercial operations on highways. These trucks are capable of autonomous driving on 95% of China’s highways, with initial data indicating approximately a 5% decrease in fuel costs annually, and a remarkable 50% increase in labor productivity.
Mr. Wenjun Li, a driver for STO Express, said drivers using the system can now cover over 1,000 daily kilometers with significantly reduced fatigue.
The commercial deployment of Inceptio-powered trucks positions STO Express at the forefront of digital fleet management and autonomous technology, with the express delivery company showcasing its progress at the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services and the 2024 STO Express National Network Conference.
Inceptio-powered trucks have already powered over 180 million kilometers of safe, efficient operations for a wide range of customers, from big logistics companies to small fleets and individual operators. Inceptio will continue to work closely with its customers to leverage its powerful, data-driven R&D system to rapidly iterate and enhance its autonomous driving technology. This includes developing new autonomous driving models, optimizing driving scenarios, and improving fuel efficiency.
