The trucks, which were jointly developed with Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, are part of a 500-vehicle order placed by STO Express in August 2023. They also form part of broader procurement and strategic collaboration agreements signed with STO Express, ZTO Freight and Deppon Express. To date, trucks with Inceptio Autonomous Driving System have safely operated along China’s highways for more than 90 million kilometers, helping a wide range of logistics companies save on labor and fuel costs.

Outfitted with Inceptio’s full-stack autonomous driving system, these trucks are equipped with a hardware kit that includes LiDAR sensor technology, millimeter-wave radar, high-definition cameras, and an autonomous driving-control unit. In addition, the system’s software—powered by Inceptio’s unique algorithms that are keenly tailored to heavy-duty truck operation—boasts precise perception and control abilities which has garnered recognition for its safety and improved labor and fuel efficiency. Inceptio’s Truck Navigate-on-Autopilot technology has also successfully covered all of China’s expressways, directly supporting the widespread commercial adoption and growth of the industry.

Delivered in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, the trucks will operate along key freight routes across eastern, southern and northern China, driving STO Express’s digital transformation and overall development.

The STO Express delivery is just the latest milestone for Inceptio in its commercialization journey. In November 2023, the company made its largest delivery in history, providing international express logistics company Yunyi Transport with 63 trucks, which were the first batch in an order totalling 300 vehicles.

Inceptio believes more logistics companies are recognizing the benefits of autonomous driving, and are racing to utilize these technologies to save on costs, improve efficiency, and maintain safe operations. As more customers choose Inceptio’s technology, the exponential growth of its operating data will help it further iterate its algorithms and bring greater benefits to all stakeholders.
